1. CGN-Convention 04.03.2023 (was supposed to be 18. MGL-Convention):

Hello MGL-Convention friends!

The 18th MGL Convention was supposed to take place at Mönchengladbach Airport on March 4th, 2023.

Unfortunately, the conversion work at the previous venue (bistro) has already begun, but the construction work at the new planned venue (terminal) will not be completed by March.

Therefore we will not be able to hold the convention at MGL Airport as planned!

We were looking for a new, suitable location for future events and we found it with MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland on the site of the historic airport at Butzweilerhof in Cologne! 

This means, the 18th MGL Convention will now become the 1st CGN-Convention. 

The Butzweilerhof is located in the northwest of Cologne, conveniently close to the A1 and A57 motorways (exit 28 at the Köln-Nord junction) and is easy to reach by public transport (U5) from Cologne main station.

In the Butzweilerhof, where the first daredevil flight attempts took place as early as 1910 and which was considered the “Air Crossroads of the West” in the 1930s, the new MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland had been launched in June 2018.

Open all year round and accessible free of charge, the "Butz" is a lively meeting place for car lovers on an area of around 50,000 square meters.

From oldtimers to youngtimers, rarities, modern luxury automobiles to bikes. At MOTORWORLD Köln Rheinland you will find unusual vehicles of all kinds. exclusive glass boxes for storing and presenting your automotive treasures, specialized workshops, high-quality accessories shops and a wide range of restaurants make this a world class venue for our convention.

We believe that we have found a sustainable solution with the Butzweilerhof.

With the historic airport building and the Fokker F-27 parked in front of it, a little "aviation flair" is still provided!

We expect the Corona situation to be relaxed and that the weather will be good. So we are certain that the event can take place in a relaxed atmosphere again.

Unfortunately, the change of venue - which was also surprising for us - leads to a significant cost increase, eventually creating the need of a table rental increase (see below).

This is the first increase since the 1st MGL Convention in 2014! In addition, we will charge a small entrance fee in the future (see below). This also serves to cover cost.

We kindly ask you to reconfirm tables that had already been reserved for the 18th MGL Convention, as both the table size and the table prices changed!

Wir - das Team der MGL-Convention - möchten Dir mitteilen, dass die 16. MGL-Convention wie geplant am 12.03.2022 stattfinden wird.

Die Convention wird gemäß der an diesem Tag in NRW gültigen Corona Schutzmaßnahmenverordnung stattfinden. Die endgültigen Maßnahmen werden wir kurz vor der Convention mitteilen.

Teile uns bitte bis Samstag 19.02.2022 mit, wie viele Tische Du benötigst. Tischreservierung bitte direkt an  info@mgl-convention.de senden.

Aufbauzeiten für Freitag 11. und Samstag 12.3.2022 werden wir zusammen mit den gültigen Corona Schutzmaßnahmen mitteilen.

We, the MGL Convention team, would like to inform you that the 16th MGL Convention will take place as planned on March 12th, 2022.

The convention will take place in accordance with the Corona Protection Measures Ordinance valid in North Rhine-Westphalia on that day. We will announce the final rules shortly before the convention.

Please let us know by Saturday February 19th, 2022 how many tables you need. Please send table reservations directly to info@mgl-convention.de .

We will announce construction times for Friday, March 11th and Saturday, March 12th, 2022 together with the applicable corona protection measures.

15. MGL-Convention 23.10.2021:

We dare a new beginning in MGL on 23rd of October 2021! At the usual location, but with a new partner! Sebastian Steinbach from Flugwerk24 is now part of the MGL team!

Unfortunately, Bistro Winkens will be closed for good, but we still hope for a familiar, relaxed and also delicious atmosphere in the terminal of MGL Airport.

And despite the Corona, we hope for lots of exhibitors and visitors :-) Registrations/inquiries from exhibitors are now possible via the - partly new - contact channels mentioned in the flyer. The usual "circular mail" to existing MGL exhibitors will follow in the next few days!

"For collectors by collectors" - under the still valid motto we hope for a successful new start!

14. MGL-Convention (17.10.20) - cancelled:

Due to the current and foreseeable development of the Corona measures, we unfortunately have to cancel the 14th MGL Convention.

Not being able to hold the 13th (and 14th) convention in the "darned" 7th year - one could become superstitious ;-)

All the more we are looking forward to the 15th MGL Convention in 2021! Let's hope that the situation will have eased sufficiently by then ...

13. MGL-Convention (28.03.20) - cancelled:

Due to the current and foreseeable development of the Corona measures, we unfortunately do not see ourselves in a position to organise a replacement date for the 13th MGL Convention, which was cancelled in March.

Not being able to hold the 13th convention in the "darned" 7th year - one could become superstitious ;-)

All the more we are looking forward to the already announced 14th MGL Convention on 17.10.2020! Let's hope that the situation will have eased sufficiently by then ...
